The Team grid's filters are built from the people in it. There is nothing to configure beyond a label: the section reads every card's location, role and level, and offers a dropdown for each field that has more than one value.
When filters show
All of these must be true:
- Show filters is on.
- The section has more than three people.
- The field has at least two different values. A team where everyone is a Stylist gets no Role filter.
Filtering happens in the browser, so it is instant, and the count of people shown is announced to screen readers. A Clear filters link resets all three.
Labels
Location filter label, Role filter label and Level filter label are the visible names of the three dropdowns. Rename them to match your vocabulary: Studio instead of Location, Craft instead of Role, Tier instead of Level.
Consistent values
Filters group by exact text, ignoring case and surrounding spaces. Downtown and Downtown Salon are two entries. In collection mode, a metafield with a list of values contributes each value to the filter, so a stylist with Downtown and Riverside appears under both.
Pre-filtering a section
In collection mode, Show only these locations and Show only these roles restrict which people the section shows at all, before the guest touches a filter. One or more values, separated by commas, spelled exactly as in the metafield.
- A location page: Show only these locations Downtown.
- A category page: Show only these roles Color director, Colorist, Color specialist.
The filters then work within that subset, and hide themselves if the subset has one value.

Add one block per person. Nothing else is needed.
Every product in the collection becomes one expert card. Blocks are ignored while a collection is used.

Filters and pagination
Filters apply to the people on the current page. Set Experts per page above your team size so one page holds everyone and a filter never misses someone on page two.
